In August, 2022, we traveled to San Francisco and had our first taste for the love of sourdough bread. It was so airy and flavorful. Jude, our youngest son couldn't get enough of the sourdough bread bowl. We came back home with the love of sourdough bread in our heads.
Fast forward to 2025. Jodi, the wife decided to go with friends to a local sourdough making class in February 2025. She came home with a lot of knowledge and a sourdough starter. With the help of the chef in the family, Rich, the husband was thrilled to learn how to make sourdough bread.
After successfully making his first sourdough loaf a week later, the memories of San Francisco quickly came back. The sourdough Rich made was amazing because it was made with his "secret ingredient" aka Artesian Water.
After the family tasted Rich's first loaf, Jodi knew it was something we had to share with the world. So, Artesian Sourdough Bread Company was established.
With the new Indiana cottage food laws that were enacted in 2022, Artesian Sourdough Bread Company plans to introduce as many people in Indiana to our tasty sourdough bread that is one of a kind.
